Workshops and Creative Education

Idiot String offers a variety of creative workshops for all ages, some featuring our resident troupe, the Peripatetic Players, who you may have seen performing in a park or public space over the summer.

Public Workshops

Idiot String hosts a series of weekend workshops at the Port Costa School that are open to the public. These workshops are best suited for participants aged 14 and up, and are supported in part by the Crockett Community Foundation, who have made it possible for us to offer substantially reduced tuition to residents of Port Costa, Crockett, and Tormey.

Classroom Workshops

Idiot String can also come to your school or organization. These workshops may be a single session of one to three hours long; or a series of workshop sessions. Single-session workshops will provoke imagination, discovery, and lots of fun, while longer workshops allow for in-depth exploration and ensemble-building, often leading to a brief performance. Each workshop can be tailored to the age range of the participants. For detailed descriptions of some of our workshop offerings, download our Creative Education Packet.

Please contact us to custom-design a curriculum for your school or organization, for information on teaching residencies or in-depth workshop series, or to book a workshop.
